About Me:
Hi, I'm a twenty-two year old filmmaker based in Brisbane. I was studying animation but I found that I was more interested in storytelling in general and so I've started to pursue live action work. I've studied animation at Qantm, worked on X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and have taught animation to high school kids in Hervey Bay. I like alpacas, have a pile of books that grows faster than I can clear it and contend with hair that I'm almost always, but not entirely, unsatisfied with.
My goal in life is to write silly things and point cameras at slightly less silly things. Still mostly silly though. Essentially I want to make a living doing the things that used to exasperate my English teachers and hopefully, somehow, retroactively justify them. (The things I used to do, that is, not the teachers. They were in every way justified in their bemusement.)
I'm currently volunteering with the RSPCA, filming animals up for adoption and editing the footage for use on YouTube. It's actually my hope that this is the start of a parallel career where I can use filmmaking and storytelling to help animals. I think that's evolved nice and organically out of my habit of pointing cameras at animals anway.
Actually, I think that sums up my attitude to filmmaking and storytelling in general: my habit of doing it anyway. I think that, no matter what, I'm always going to be pointing cameras at things and scribbling down absurd scenarios. Partly because I'm a slightly useless someone who hedged his bets and is now incapable of anything else, but mostly because I love it and can't imagine doing anything else.
For better or worse I'm going to keep pointing my camera at things. My cat doesn't seem to mind.
